Axel the Dog needs a home
Axel is as handsome as he is intelligent and playful. He's easy to train and so much fun to be with. He loves learning new tricks and practicing those he already knows. He also loves to go on car rides, to play with toys, to splash in his pool and, most of all, he loves to cuddle up with his favorite people. Though Axel hasn't shown this behavior at the Sanctuary, he guarded his person from other people in his previous home by nipping at men who were strangers. Axel has shown a little bit of jumpy/mouthy behavior here at Dogtown, so his caregivers are rewarding him for keeping all four paws on the floor, and teaching him to automatically go to his bed as they enter his room. He is also learning impulse control through playing tug-of-war with his favorite toys (i.e., teaching him to only take the toy on cue, and to drop the toy on cue) This loyal, loving and smart dog was born in 2015 and would do best in an active home. He currently takes prescription medication for mild itchiness possibly due to seasonal allergies. He's done well with other dogs at the Sanctuary and would love the chance to find his forever home.
